Finding the Best Car Detailer in Manchester — What to Look For

Greater Manchester has no shortage of car detailers — from mobile valeting vans to car wash garages to specialist studios. But the standard of work varies enormously, and choosing the wrong detailer for a ceramic coating or paint correction job can leave you worse off than when you started. Here's what to look for.

Certifications Matter — Especially for Ceramic Coating

Ceramic Pro 9H and KAVACA PPF are not available to the public — they are trade-only products supplied only to authorised, certified installers. If a detailer is offering "Ceramic Pro" but is not an authorised installer registered on the Ceramic Pro brand's installer directory, they are either using a different (inferior) product or using product obtained through grey channels — neither of which comes with a manufacturer warranty.

Certification also means the installer has been trained to the brand's installation standards. Ceramic coating application is not complicated, but correct surface preparation — decontamination, paint correction, IPA wipe-down — is time-consuming and often the first thing a non-specialist cuts corners on.

Red Flags to Watch For

Be cautious of any detailer offering a "full ceramic coating" for under £100, completed same-day, or drive-through. A professional ceramic coating application takes a full day at minimum — because proper preparation takes most of that time. Fast and cheap usually means a consumer-grade ceramic spray applied with minimal prep.

Other warning signs: no mention of paint correction, no paint depth measurement before work starts, no warranty documentation, and no before/after photo process. A professional installer will be able to show you paint depth readings, before/after photos under inspection lighting, and warranty registration documentation.

Questions to Ask Before Booking

Before committing to any ceramic coating installation, ask: Are you a certified Ceramic Pro installer? What does the preparation process involve — do you machine polish before coating? Will the coating be registered with the manufacturer for warranty? Can I see photos of previous work? How long does the process take?

A genuine, professional installer will answer all of these questions clearly and confidently. If the answers are vague or the process is being rushed, look elsewhere. Contact Ceramic Pro Manchester for a free, honest consultation.
